Farewell Frances Crowe

Farewell Frances Crowe,

we will walk in your footsteps

and sow seeds of peace.

When asked how many times she had been arrested during her life in her struggle for peace & justice for humanity and the planet, Frances Crowe answered “Not enough”. 100 years old, Frances Crowe died yesterday (8-27-2019) at her home in Northampton, the city where she spent most of her life and the city where I was born. I am so grateful I crossed paths with her but unfortunately it wasn’t as a youth, unfortunately it wasn’t until I had already gone to war. About a decade ago I met her when she spoke on my college campus. She had been arrested a week earlier outside a nuclear plant. She was 90 then.

She was last arrested at 98. May she rest in peace while we all try our best to honor her legacy. If you’ve never heard of Frances Crowe look her up on Ecosia.com, she’d like that.
