And we still fight for what we’ve stolen…

It takes blood to drive

we drain the hive

and now we wonder

why we just can’t thrive

as we tempt god’s

with all our thunder

and lightning strikes again

we say “amen”

and look for flowers,

stir honey in our milk

so we can drink

after it sours

and hours turn to days

turn into weeks

there’s many years gone

the market proves it pays

to move the meek away

like chess pawns

and dawn’s light breaks the night

and we still fight

for what we’ve stolen

it’s time to drop the sword

and end this chapter,

no semicolon.
