Last Call

Thousands upon thousands of miles

away from ‘civilization’

away from it all

and still I can’t get away

from it all

it follows

just as sure as our shadow follows us

wherever we go

only there is no respite

after the sunset

theres no escape.

Here, adrift thousands of miles

out to sea

where seagulls can’t even find me

my goddamn thoughts

won’t ever leave me alone

think about jumping in

and quenching this insatiable thirst

with the Pacific for last call

and a mind finally at ease,

adrift in peace

where not even the vultures

can find me.
